KENNESAW, Ga. - With a partial squad, the Vikings took on the Kennesaw Invitational against three Division I teams, two Division II Teams, placing fifth out of twenty.
Berry held their own in today's meet, the fifth place finish put them behind Division I KSU, Gardner-Webb, and Life University who is the defending NAIA national champion, and rival Emory.
Men Highlights:
The men's 4x100 relay team of Josh Rogers, Jaden Melville, Deiondre Wilson, and Jahari Jones placed 2nd behind Kennesaw State with a time of 41.49. The time breaks the previous Berry school record of 41.51 set back in 2018. The time is the 3rd fastest time run by a DIII school so far this year.
Senior David Billiard finished in the top 3 in the Shot Put between two D1 throwers from KSU and Gardner Webb, placing 2nd
Jahari Jones placed 4th overall in the 200m with a time of 21.69
Sophomore Dawson Livingston placed 7th in the Discus with a seasonal PR of 43.65m and 7th in the Hammer Throw with a season PR of 49.92m
Junior's Alden McDonald and Connor Johnson placed 4th and 6th in the Pole Vault.
Senior Jackson Sears placed 6th in the Javelin with a season PR of 52.46m
Women Highlights:
Sophomore Macy Murdock won the 400H with a new PR of 1:03.15 which breaks her own school record in the event set earlier this season. Her time is ranked #3 in the Nation for D3 going into the weekend.
Freshman Onoyeme Egure place runner-up in the Shot Put with a throw of 12.53m. Teammates Malysha Winston and Avery Jones placed 6th and 7th
Senior Cailin DeLeo took 2nd place in the Javelin with a season PR of 38.14m. Teammate Sadie Phillips placed 5th
Sophomore Malysha Winston placed 6th in the Hammer Throw
Junior Madeline Hubbert placed 5th in the Pole Vault with an outdoor PR of 3.30m. FR Teammate Emilee Easley placed 8th with a season PR of 3.00m
Kris Williams and Madi Duke placed 7th and 8th in the High Jump. Duke's clearance of 1.55m was a new lifetime PR.
Berry will return to action as a full team next weekend at the Lee University Fast Break Athletics Invitational in Cleveland, TN on Friday and Saturday April 5-6th.
