MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Berry track and field had another great showing this past weekend in tough conditions at SAA opponents meet, the Rhodes Invitational.
Head Coach
Luke Syverson says, "The weather was Challenging for field events on Friday but had a beautiful comeback on Saturday. The 5k runners did a great job Friday night and the team had some solid event wins and a number of great lifetime and seasonal PR's. This was a good showing against SAA rivals Rhodes, Centre, and Millsaps this early on in the outdoor season."
Women's Highlights:
Ariel Ellis finished 3
rd in women's 10000 meter (40:54.76)
Josie Loggins finished 6
th in 100 m hurdles (16.12) and fourth in the 400 m hurdles (1:08.16)

Olivia Lambert took third in the 4x400 (4:23.04)
Kris Williams won the high jump as a freshman with a jump of 1.60m

Sofia Henderson placed fifth in the discus throw (37.53m)
Malysha Winston took third in the hammer throw (42.98m) followed by
Sadie Phillips and
Avery Jones who finished fifth and sixth, respectively
In the Javelin throw, Senior
Cailin DeLeo finished third with a throw of 35.99m
Right behind DI competitor Memphis,
Onoyeme Egure took second in the shot put (13.15m)
Men's Highlights:
Patrick Bollwerk and JP Deaton finished fifth and sixth in the 10000m
In the 5000m
Ethan Smith took fourth with a time of 14:53.28 and he finished sixth in the 800m
Bradshaw Lathbury defeated all opponents in the mile with a time of 4:19.68
Marcus Wilson, a junior finished fourth in the 400m Hurdles (58.56)
In the 3000m steeplechase,
Gianpaolo Longo, a junior took third right behind Millsaps
The quad of Vikings
Braden Hobbs, Matt Bowker,
Troy Blackwood, and
Gianpaolo Longo finished third collectively in the 4x800 relay
Freshman
Gage Lee finished fourth in the high jump (1.75m)
Vikings had a big showing in the pole vault with
Connor Johnson taking first and
Gage Lee and Nick Enright taking fourth and fifth
Deiondre Wilson finished fifth in the long jump (6.15m)
In the discus,
David Billiard finished behind DI competitors at Memphis with a throw of 46.82m and he also took second in the shot put (15.88m)
Mason Robinson and Tony Garcia finished among the top in the hammer throw with a third and fifth place take away
Freshman
Jackson Jorski finished second in the Javelin and
Jackson Sears followed closely behind in fourth
The team takes on two different events this Friday, one in Kennesaw, Georgia, the Don McGarey Invite and the other in Cleveland, Tennessee, the Lee Invitational.
