SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Vikings fell short in their SAA Semifinal matchup tonight against the Rhodes Lynx, 3-0.
In the late night matchup, Rhodes opened the scoring early in the first half when Sophia Rall found the net at the 18:56 mark, assisted by Mary Gale Godwin. Just minutes later, Godwin herself scored, with Megan Propp providing the assist, giving the Lynx a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Berry goalkeeper
Maggie Jones made six saves in the first half, helping to keep her team within reach.
In the second half, Berry continued to battle defensively but could not break through Rhodes' stronghold. Rall scored her second goal of the game at the 76:45 mark, unassisted, to further secure the lead for the Lynx. Jones ended the game with an impressive 10 saves, facing a relentless 24-shot onslaught from Rhodes, while Berry managed only four shots, one of which was on target.
This wraps up the season for the Vikings finishing 6-7-4 overall.Â
