SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Men's Swimming Vikings took down Sewanee in their dual meet this evening on the road, 109-96, while the women fell to the Tigers, 146-75.
Men Key Highlights from the Dual:

Nick Fonzo, Thomas Schefunas, William Blood and
Evan Pelletier took down the Tigers by eight seconds in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:30.65), a new SAA record by over four seconds and the 15th time in the country currently.

Jack Button captured 1000 Freestyle (10:59.94), a new personal best
-Fonzo and Pelletier took second and third, respectively as they competed in the 200 freestyle with Fonzo just .25 seconds behind the first place Sewanee swimmer. Nick's time was a new personal best and is the 2nd best time in the SAA

Ethan Whiting and Caden Wolf headlined the 400 IM, Whiting's time places him with the best time in the SAA by over 5 seconds.
-Senior William Blood took first during the 100 Butterfly (53.84)
-Fonzo and Whiting took first and second in the 500 free, Fonzo's time was a new personal best at 4:55.86 while Whiting's time had the fastest final 50 split in the race and is the fourth best in the SAA.
-John Cook defeated all competitors in the 100 Breaststroke (1:00.66)
-In the 100 back Fonzo swam a 50.05, breaking the Sewanee pool record, claimed the best time in the SAA by over two seconds, and is currently the 8th best time in the country.

Chase Cannon swam a new personal best in the 1000 free (11:42.18).
The women's team fell short of the Tigers at 146-75.
Women Key Highlights from the Dual:

Emily Martin had a strong second place finish in the second event, the 1000 Free
-Sarahbeth Brown and Lilly Groves captured the second and third spot in the 200 Free, just milliseconds between the two.
-Brown showed out in the 100 Butterfly, defeating all opponents for first (1:00.37)

Molly Heath took the 100 Back (1:03.65), showing her versatility.
-In the 500 Free, Groves took second after Sewanee
-Junior
Ashley Young won the 100 Breaststroke, with the fourth best time in the SAA (1:09.49)
-In the 400 IM,
Molly Heath swam a new personal Best at 5:01.70

Havily Weaver had a new personal best in the 50 free with a time of 29.30
The Vikings will return to action at Centre on November 22-24 in Danville, Kentucky.
