DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Viking Men's Golf sits in 6th place out of 20 teams after almost two rounds of golf at the West Pines Collegiate.
The men are only +20 after a complete round one and 16-18 in round two.
Jay Sanders leads his team, in 16th individually with round scores of 73 (+2) and 68 (with still one hole to go). Sanders currently has shot a combined 7 birdies in his combined 35 holes. In round two he started five over after four holes and battled back to finish at one over with just one hole to go.
Cam Baker is next in line with still a hole to go in round two as well. In round one he shot a 76 with three birdies and in round two he has shot a 65 with one hole to go at a par 5, so he is on track to shoot one under.
Kevin Verrill sits in 25th overall with 7 birdies and round scores of 76 and 71, the only Viking to make it through a full two rounds.
Charles Kyle and
Jay Carr are also having a great tournament with round one scores of 73 and 75 and round two scores of 73 for Kyle with one hole to go and 71 for Carr with two holes to go.
Vikings return to finish round two tomorrow and take on round three at West Pines.
