JACKSON, Miss.- The rain in Mississippi only allowed one game on Saturday morning but the No. 4-ranked Berry Vikings (30-4, 15-0 SAA) took advantage, starting the series off with a 5-1 win over Southern Athletic Association foe Millsaps College.
Aleeya Thornton started the game off strong with a triple to right center, then
Morgan Frye continued the early momentum with a single to score Thornton. Frye was able to score as
Anna Jackson was caught stealing to give Berry a 2-0 lead after one.
In the second inning,
Shelby Daniel singled and advanced to second which sent
Sydney Moroney to home plate making it 3-0 Berry.
Frye singled through the left side to score Daniel in the fourth. The Majors scored their only run of the day in the fourth inning on a double.
The Vikings sealed the win as Frye flew out to left field bringing in
Casey Holloway for the fifth run.
Blair Hall improved to 13-3 on the year and threw five solid innings in the circle, only allowing only one run, four hits and struck out eight. Holloway came in to pitch the final two innings facing six batters and recording two strikeouts.

The Vikings will play a doubleheader on Sunday, with game two of the series and the first of the day slated to start at 12 p.m. EDT.
