Berry baseball put up nine runs in the 10th inning to bring them to a 12-3 win against Southern Athletic Association foe Oglethorpe University Saturday afternoon in Atlanta.

In the top of the tenth, Joey Garcia doubled down the left field line bringing in two runs to get the rally started for the Vikings. John D'Amelio scored on a wild pitch to take the Vikings to a 3-run lead. Garrett Lang then singled up the middle bringing in another two runs to bring the score to 8-3. The first 10 batters for Berry made it on base to contribute to the nine-run inning.

BC put up their first two runs in the first inning after Wesley Maxey walked and Wesley Wade brought him in with a single through the left side. Caleb Spiked then had an RBI to end the inning.

John Poist had an RBI to bring in Spikes to score another for the Vikings to make the score 3-1 in the fourth. Oglethorpe then scored two in the fifth to tie the game up at 3-3. Both teams were scoreless until they went into extras.

Jackson Halla did yeoman's work on the mound for the second SAA start in a row, going seven innings and allowing just three runs. Tyler Cassidy came on in relief and pitched the final three innings to earn the win. The Stormy Petrels would get runners on second and third with two out against Cassidy, but after an intentional walk to set up a force play at every base, Cassidy would get a line out to center to get out of the jam and set the stage for the Berry rally.

Berry will be back at home against Lagrange College Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
