Vikings Fall to Emory

MOUNT BERRY, Ga.— Joey Garcia started 3-run rally to give the Vikings life, but Berry baseball falls 12-3 against Emory University Tuesday afternoon at William R. Bowdoin Field.

The Vikings found themselves behind early as Emory put runs on the board in the first, third, and fourth inning, before BC rallied in the fourth to give them some hope.

The best inning for the Vikings (7-13) at the plate was brought by back-to-back-to-back hits by Garcia, John D'Amelio, and Andrew Pendleton scoring two runs to open the fourth to put the score at 5-2. John Poist singled to right field to score Pendleton to bring the deficit to two at the end of the inning.

Momentum quickly tilted back onto the Eagles (11-8) as they continued to chip away runs for the next two innings, bringing the score to the final margin at the end of the sixth.

Wesley Wade and Pendleton were both 2-for-3 at the plate and Berry had 10 hits on the day, but were not able to string them together leaving 10 Vikings on base.

The Vikings will be on the road to Atlanta to face Southern Athletic Association Oglethorpe University Friday evening with a start time of 5:00 p.m.
