LAGRANGE, Ga. - Berry Men's Basketball increased their record to 2-2 overall with a big win over the Panthers of LaGrange college in tonight's contest, 91-69.

A 52 point first half shocked the Panthers from the tip. The first eight points for the Vikings came inside the paint to motivate the team where they would outscore LaGrange 54-36 in the lane for the game.

Berry's defense held tough too, across the first four minutes of the game LaGrange could only find two points as they got down 11-2.

Refusing to give up, the home team brought the game back within four points at the 7:55 mark (20-16). The Vikings responded with a 6-0 run that was broken up and followed by an 8-0 run that included two triples. Shooting almost 65% from the field in the first half, Berry liked every shot they were taking, and even from three land the team shot over 45% with 15 points from behind the arc all in the first half. 

SAA Athlete of the Week Braxton Benham ended the historic scoring first half with a quick layup to push the Vikings lead to 21 at 52-31.

It was hard for the Panthers to recover from the rain that the Vikings let down in the first half. Still dominating in the paint behind leading scorer Bryce Clark, Berry only allowed as close as a 10 point differential in their second half debut. The team quickly pushed the lead back to twenty at 75-53 and defensively held off the hungry Panthers who had previously only had one loss on the season (5-1).

With 17 points off LaGrange's turnovers, the Vikings capitalized on every error to earn a road win.
