SALEM, VA.- The Berry Vikings fell in 6-2 in game two to No.1 seed CNU on Saturday in Salem.
           The Vikings struck first as
Riley Jackson singled
Katie White home in the bottom of the third inning. But the Captains answered back the very next inning by adding a run of their own.
           The fourth inning continued to look promising for Berry as
Morgan Frye hit a homer to center field going way past the fence. The score of 2-1 stayed the same up until the sixth inning where the Captains found ways to score three unearned runs suddenly putting them ahead by two.

Blair Hall came in to pitch for
Hannah Gore, who starting in the circle for Berry. Gore gave up for hits and four runs but struck out five as she exited.
           Berry was able to find themselves on base quite a few times, hoping to find a way to reach home plate, but they were unsuccessful as the Vikings left nine on base. The Captains managed to tack on another two runs in the seventh inning to seal the win. This is the first loss the Vikings have experienced since the regular season against Birmingham-Southern.
Although the Captains outscored the Vikings in runs, Berry recorded nine hits and only one error while CNU recorded seven hits and three errors.
           Hall allowed three hits and two runs, and struck out one on the day. The Vikings will play again on Saturday night facing Eastern Connecticut State at 9:30 in an elimination game.
