Vikings Split with Majors on the Road

Game one: Berry 4 Millsaps 5
In the third inning, Sydney Moroney was the first to touch home giving her team the first lead of the series. In the sixth, Katie White homered out to center field, giving the Vikings some needed life on offense, tying the game at 2-2. But Millsaps would add another run, the game now a back and forth battle.
Grace Hamilton scored on a sacrifice bunt from Shelby Daniel, giving the lead back. But Millsaps added another run to tie it up yet again.
In the seventh, White doubled out to center field, sending Moroney home, but that would be the only run that Berry would have to work with heading into the bottom of the seventh.
The Majors scored two more at the last minute to upset the Vikings in game one.
Danielle Sudick took the loss, which puts her at 2-2 on the season. She pitched four innings, allowed three hits, and recorded five strikeouts.

Game 2: Berry 8 Millsaps 1
Starting off game two strong, Daniel tripled on an error scoring Anna Jackson and Riley Jackson. Hall reached on yet another error committed by the Majors, scoring Daniel. In the third, Morgan Frye homered, sending Anna Jackson home in the process.
In the fourth, three more runs were added to the bounce back performance by Anna Jackson, who singled to right field, while sending Riley Jackson and Aleeya Thornton home. The Vikings were now up 8-1. Berry managed to maintain their seven run lead for the rest of game two, securing the win.
Emily Whitehead got the win, pitching all seven innings, recording five hits, one run, and one strikeout.
The Vikings are back on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST to close out their series in Jackson, Miss.
