MOUNT BERRY, Ga.- The No.12 Berry Vikings took an intense game one of the Southern Athletic Association championship series 7-3 on Friday at Kay Williams Field.
The Vikings had control of the game early,
Katie White getting the first taste of the lead scoring off a single by
Riley Jackson. The Panthers responded soon after however with a run of their own, tying the game.
           Berry kept up their momentum as
Sydney Moroney doubled, sending
Blair Hall to home plate. They kept chipping away inning by inning,
Riley Jackson adding another run on the board.
        In the fourth inning with two outs to work with, White hit a two run homer further increasing the lead to 5-1. But they weren't done yet, as
Abbey Gamble hit a single straight to the wall at center field, scoring
Anna Jackson and
Morgan Frye.
                The Panthers added two more runs in the seventh in an attempt to close in on the Vikings, but they were unsuccessful.

Blair Hall (7-2) secured the win for Berry, pitching all seven innings allowing seven hits and three runs, but striking out seven Panthers. White and Gamble both lead the team with two RBI's each. The Vikings recorded eight hits and committed no errors.
           Berry will look to secure the championship at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Kay Williams Field.
