Vikings Fight but Fall to Tigers

Berry's women's tennis team fought hard but suffered their first Southern Athletic Association loss of the season against No. 7 Sewanee by score of 8-1 at the Rome Tennis Center.

The Tigers swept the Vikings in the doubles sets, with Allison Ivey and Juliana Mascagni putting up the best match for the Vikings in line one. The match ended with a score of 8-4.

Ivey continued her undefeated run of conference singles matches, giving the Vikings their lone point for the afternoon. Ivey won by a large margin, with a scores of 6-1 and 6-2 in her two sets.

In line six of the singles matches, Emma Kruger almost made a comeback in her second set. Down 1-6 in the first set, Kruger kept the match interesting by almost forcing it into a tie-breaker set. Kruger ended the second set by score 6-4.

The Vikings will be back on April 24th in their last regular season match against Centre College at the Rome Tennis Center. The first match is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
