Sydney Blankenship scored 14 points and
Sylvia Kahoro added 11 as Berry dropped an exhibition women's basketball contest to College of Charleston, 84-38, Tuesday night in Charleston, S.C.
The Vikings actually jumped out to an early lead as Berry won the jump ball and scored on a
Kenadie Lee jumper at the shot clock buzzer. The lead would prove to be short-lived as the first two of the Cougars' 12 3-pointers on the night gave the hosts a lead they would not relinquish.
Charleston only made four more shots from inside the 3-point line than Berry, 17-13; however, the Cougars outscored the Vikings from beyond the arc by 27 points.
Blankenship was 6-of-11 from the field, while Kahoro was 5-of-10. Each player made a 3-pointer for the Vikings. Lee's six rebounds were a team-high, with the sophomore dishing out three assists to join
Elizabeth Sierzant with the team-best.
The game was an exhibition for Berry, which sees its record stay at 5-4 on the season, while Charleston improves to 5-3.
Berry will return to action this Saturday in Decatur, Ga., against Agnes Scott, with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.
