Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | by Niki Peters

Vikings Surge Past Birmingham-Southern

Tori Toellner scored two goals for Berry's women's soccer team, leading the Vikings to a dominating 4-0 win on the road against Birmingham-Southern Friday evening in Southern Athetlic Association play.

Berry opened the scoring in the 20th minute as Hannah Henn received a throw-in, dribbled into the box, and shot into the bottom right, giving Berry an advantage.

In the last minute of the first half, Karsen Brantley from the top of the 18-yard box passed the ball to Toellner as she scored her first goal of the game, shooting into the goalkeeper's bottom left corner of the net to put Berry up 2-0.

In the 77th minute, Abby Morgan passed the ball to Karsen Brantley, who dribbled through defenders and shot the ball from outside the top middle of the 18-yard box past the goalkeeper to the back of the net.

In the 84th minute, Christina Marijanich found Toellner as she took the ball all the way to the goalkeeper and shot into the bottom right corner of the net to cap the scoring for the Vikings (7-3, 3-0 SAA).

The Vikings played a great defensive game as they held the Panthers (2-5-2, 0-2 SAA) to two shots the entire game, none of which were on target.

Berry will be back in action on Sunday against Millsaps College with a kickoff at 11:00 a.m. in Jackson, Miss.
