Women’s Basketball Wins Big on Senior Night

Rome, GA – The Berry College women's basketball team defeated Covenant College on Friday, 63-44, on senior night.

Madeline Sandman led all scorers with 21 points and eight rebounds. Mary Walters added 11 points and Jana Morning eight rebounds for the Vikings.

Berry was solid in all aspects of the game, taking advantage of every opportunity given to them. They scored 19 bench points, 17 points off turnovers and tallied 24 points in the paint. The Vikings outrebounded the Scots 37-29 and shot six more free throws.

The game went back and forth for the beginning of the first quarter, but a layup from Alex Bolling and a jumper from Jana Morning increased the lead to 16-9 and Berry took control from there. Leading 31-18 at halftime, the Vikings outscored the Scots 32-26 to secure the win.
