Jackson, MS – The Berry College baseball team improves to 10-2 after going undefeated on the weekend at Millsaps.
Ben Coker (4-0) got the start in game one, pitching all nine innings and striking out nine batters and only giving up two runs.
Zack Walch went 3-5 and scored one of the Vikings' four runs.
Tyler Calvert,
John D'Amelio and
Weston Bray also each had a run to hold on to the 4-2 win.
The bats came alive in game two, as the Vikings connected with 20 hits and defeated the Majors 20-7.
Patrick O'Rourke got the start in the circle, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out two batters. Milan Sutari,
Will Marquart,
Brady Drummond and
Mark Swett all got action in the circle.
Tyler Calvert led the way with a homerun and a triple for the Vikings, with
Spence Johns connecting with two doubles in his four at-bats.
Dalton Smith also added a triple for the Vikings.
Games three and four were very similar to game two, with Berry connecting with 21 hits in game three to win 15-4 and nine hits to win 10-7.
Garrett West got the start and the win for Berry in game three, pitching four innings, only giving up two runs with five strikeouts.
Andrew Norred claimed the win in game four.
Johns, Calvert and
Zach Huie each had three hits in game three and Johns and
John Poist added two in game four.
