The Berry women's soccer team saw its season come to an end Friday night when the Vikings were edged by Rhodes 2-1 in the semifinals of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament held in Danville, Ky.
Head coach
Kathy Brown's Vikings finish the season with an 11-6 record.
Against the Lynx, Berry trailed 1-0 at the half thanks to an unassisted goal by Mary Gale Godwin 23 minutes into the match.
The Vikings, however, quickly evened the score just three minutes into the second half when
Ashley Read found the back of the net with an unassisted goal to tie thing up.
But the deadlock didn't last long. Just three seconds later Rhodes was awarded a penalty kick and Christina Karem delivered for the Lynx for what proved to be the game winner.
Berry ended the night with 15 shots, six of those on goal, while Vikings goalkeeper
Maggie Jones finished the game recording seven saves.
