The Berry women's basketball team defeated Wesleyan College 83-27 in their home opener in the Cage center on Tuesday night.
The Vikings, now 2-3 overall, started off the first quarter steady in scoring,
Sydney Blankenship and
Kennedy Moore leading the team in points as Berry ended the period with a commanding 21-9 lead.
In the second quarter Berry's offense picked up the pace and maintained control of the game, widening the margin to 43-14 going into halftime thanks to the Vikings' defense that kept the Wolves' offense in check.
Faith Humphrey led the team with eight points, Blankenship not far behind her with seven at the break.
In the second half, the Berry offense and defense didn't slow down, and only gave up four points in that quarter alone, ending the quarter even further ahead of the Wolves 64-18.
Karlee Armstrong led the Vikings with 11 points and Blankenship had nine points on the night
The Vikings look to a rematch with Brevard College next Tuesday, Nov 30 in North Carolina.
