Box Score ROME, Ga. — Maddie Myers scored six goals on Saturday night, leading the Berry College women's lacrosse team to a 15-12 victory over Brevard College.
With the win, Berry improves to 1-2 while Brevard dropped to 0-1 on the year.
The Vikings jumped out to a 2-0 advantage before trading blows with the Tornados midway through the first half. With the score tied at 3-3, Berry rattled off four straight goals to go up 7-3. Brevard went on a 3-0 run with under five minutes to play in the opening period to give Berry a narrow 7-6 lead at the break.
Brevard scored four straight to open the second half, going up 10-7. The Vikings outscored their opponent 8-2 the rest of the way, thanks to some crucial saves from Andrea Lindgren. The Berry goalie finished with 14 saves on the night.
Myers led with six goals and two assists. Miranda Smith added three goals and three assists with Nikki Beckham scoring three goals as well.
Berry travels to Life on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
