Johnson Scores 28, Men's Basketball Drops Overtime Battle to Hendrix

ROME, Ga.Micah Johnson scored a season-best 28 points, but the Berry College men's basketball team snapped an eight-game winning streak in a 60-59 overtime defeat to Hendrix College.

With the loss, Berry falls to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in league play. Hendrix improved to 8-6 and 2-1 in conference. 

Johnson led all scorers, going 11-for-25 from the floor with a 12-rebound double-double. Caleb Haynes followed with eight points and 11 rebounds. 

Berry struggled offensively in the opening period, shooting just 26.7% from the floor and 12.5% from distance. Hendrix led 26-18 at the half. Johnson's 18 second-half points helped push the game to overtime, but pair of missed free throws and a missed layup late gave the Warriors the opportunity to go ahead. 

The Vikings continue conference play on Friday with a big matchup at Centre.
