Women's Soccer Advances to SAA Semifinals on Penalty Kicks at BSC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Berry scored on four straight penalty kick in a shootout at Birmingham-Southern, advancing to the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) semifinals for the second straight season.

Berry jumped ahead early in the match, scoring in the fourht minute off the boot of Karsen Brantley and an assist from Lyndsey Francingues. The Panthers answered less than a minute later to make the score 1-1. Vanessa Belanger then scored in the 12th minute to put Berry ahead 2-1 until later in the second half. Sydney Barrow buried a long free kick in the 78th minute to even the score and send the game to overtime. Neither team could score, which send the contest to a penalty kick shootout. Karsen Brantley, Anna Salisbury, Vanessa Belanger and Kaitlin Ramsey each scored to send Berry to the next round. 

Berry advances to play Centre next weekend.
