Second Half Surge Pushes Women's Basketball Past Scotties 54-46

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College women's basketball team rode a stifling defense that forced 29 Agnes Scott turnovers en route to a 54-46 victory on Tuesday night.

After trailing 23-18 at the halftime break, the Vikings came out and broke off an 11-2 run to start the third quarter. The first five baskets of the period were scored by five different Vikings.

From there, Berry maintained control the rest of the way, leading by as much as 11 at one point in the fourth quarter.

Mary Walters led the Vikings with 12 points, while Eveline Parsons added eight. Berry shot 17-of-26 from the free throw line, compared to Agnes Scott's 7-of-16 mark. Berry pulled out the win despite being out-shot from the field 39.6% to 27.6%.
