ROME, Ga. — The Berry College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference outing on Friday night to the Emory University Eagles with a 68-62 final.
After holding their largest lead 32-29 with 1:59 left in the second quarter, the Vikings headed into the halftime break knotted 34-34. However, a tough third quarter in which Emory outscored Berry 18-8 put the Vikings into a hole that they would not be able to climb out of. The Eagles stretched a lead out to 13 at one point early in the fourth period, but the Vikings fought back to pull to 61-58, after Eveline Parsons converted a big three-point play. However, Emory was able to ice the game with free-throws down the stretch.
Emory shot 54.0% from the field compared to Berry's 44.0%. The Eagles also used their height to out-rebound the home team Vikings 31-23.
