Box Score ROME, Ga. — The Berry College women's basketball team opened the 2018-19 season on Monday night with a 88-35 victory over the Wesleyan Wolves. The Vikings were led by Alex Weems who put up 20 points.
Helping the Vikings open the year 1-0, Weems also earned the season's first double-double collecting 11 rebounds. She was 5-for-12 from the floor but hit 10-of-14 free throws. Both Kiana Dale and Madeline Sandman earned double-digit points off the bench. The Vikings also earned 18 steals in the outing, leading the Wolves in every major statistical category.
Berry jumped ahead 20-11 after the opening period, but outscored the Wolves 23-5 in the second quarter to enjoy a healthy 43-16 halftime lead. BC went on to outscore Wesleyan 45-19 in the second half to secure the win.
