MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Sydney Tanguilig scored 11 points off the bench, but the Berry College women's basketball team dropped their season opener to Brevard College on Wednesday night 71-52.
Freshman Capri Frazier added double-digit points for the Vikings as well in the loss, finishing the night with 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Vikings opened the game leading the first quarter 13-12, but trailed at halftime 31-26. The Vikings found some success in the third quarter, recording four steals and hitting a pair of three-point shots. Brevard's 27 point fourth quarter sealed the win for the Tornados.
Jana Morning led the team in assists with five on the night. McKenzie Smith and Eveline Parsons contributed heavily on defense for Berry, both with three steals. For the Tornados, Annalee Bollinger led all scorers with 23 points and two three-pointers in the outing, while Whitney DeMoss added a double-double in the victory, with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

- With the loss, Berry falls to 0-1 on the season, while Brevard improves to 1-0.
- On the day, the Tornados led the contest in rebounds (47-34) and field goals (25-16), while each teamed added 12 assists. Berry hit 16 free throws to Brevard's 15.
