ROME, Ga. -- Imani Smith led the Berry College women's basketball team with a team-high 11 points, but the Vikings fell short against Hendrix, 55-54, on Friday night.
The loss dropped the Vikings to 8-12 overall and 2-7 in the Southern Athletic Association. This win improved the Warriors record to 16-4 overall and 7-2 in conference.
Smith had two steals, shot 4-of-9 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Megan Casey and Zarriah Pierce both contributed nine points for the Vikes. Casey shot 4-of-7 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds. Pierce shot 3-of-13 from the field and went 3-of-6 from the free throw line.
The Vikings trailed at the half, 28-23.
Berry shot 33.3 percent (22-of-66) to the Warriors' 33.8 percent (21-of-62). Hendrix out-rebounded the Vikings (48-42) and led in assists (10-9).
Sara Dyslin notched a game-high 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Warriors.
The Vikings next game is Sunday, February 7 against Rhodes College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
