Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Nia Smith and Megan Casey scored in double figures, but the Berry women's basketball team lost at Sewanee, 71-54, on Sunday.
BC fell to 8-17 and ends Southern Athletic Association play with a 2-12 record. Sewanee moved to 12-13, 4-10.
Smith started and shot 5-of-9 from the field. She led the Vikings with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Casey came off the bench to add 11 points in the defeat. She also was 5-of-9 shooting and grabbed five rebounds.
The Tigers led 32-23 at halftime. Berry outscored Sewanee, 19-18, in the final quarter.
Berry led in rebounding, 38-30. Sewanee shot 50-percent (26-of-52) to BC's 37-percent (20-of 54). The Tigers made 13 three-pointers to Berry's two.
Sewanee had four players reach double digits for points. Corey Caulder tallied a game-best 16 points for the Tigers.
Berry will face top-seeded Birmingham-Southern in the quarterfinals of the SAA Tournament on Friday.
