Box Score MACON, Ga. -- Valerie McLure grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds, and added eight points, as Berry College won at Wesleyan College 63-44 on Tuesday night.
The Vikings improved to 7-5; the Wolves dropped to 1-10.
Led by McLure, Berry had a large edge in rebounding, 65-39. McLure had ten offensive rebounds in the game and teammate Imani Smith recorded 10 caroms and dished five assists. Emma Cook tallied 14 points (6-of-9 shooting) and Rosie Lynch added ten points for the Vikes.
Wesleyan led 11-9 after the first period. Berry rallied in the second quarter and held a 27-16 lead at halftime.
Alyssa Whitfield scored a game-best 18 points and was 7-of-13 from the field.
BC shot 35-percent (27-77) to WC's 25-percent (17-66) in the contest. Berry led in points scored in the paint (28-16) and second chance points (19-11).
"We rebounded the ball well," said Berry College Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "Our shooting wasn't great, but we played with good energy and as a team. It's another good road win for our team."
The Vikings return to Southern Athletic Association play on Friday when Birmingham-Southern visits. Game time is 6 p.m.
