Box Score ROME, Ga. -- Five Vikings scored in double figures as Berry College defeated Millsaps College, 81-65, on Sunday at the Cage Center.
BC improved to 4-8 and 2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. The visiting Majors fell to 1-13 and 0-3 in conference play.
Lukas Korn had a team-best 13 points for Berry. He was 8-of-9 from the free throw line as the Vikings went 28-of-37 from the charity stripe (76-percent) in the contest. The Majors made 8 of its 11 free throws.
Alton McCloud and Tanner Spalding scored 12 points for the home team. Owen Jacobs had 11 and Blake Scherrman contributed 10 for the Vikes.
Millsaps led 37-35 at the break. The Majors led 24-10 with 7:34 remaining in the first half before the Vikings rallied to close the gap. MC shot 64-percent (16-25) to BC's 42-percent (11-26) in the opening 20 minutes.
Berry went on a 7-0 run to open the second half and never trailed again in the game. The Vikings shot 52-percent (14-of-27). For the game, MC shot 49-percent (25-52) to BC's 47 percent (25-53).
The Vikings won the battle of the boards, 38-24. Jacobs and Alton McCloud both grabbed eight rebounds for BC.
Quinn Atkinson posted a game-high 19 points (7-of-11 shooting) for Millsaps, which had four players record double digits in the game. The Majors made 7-of-21 3-pointers to BC's 3-for-15.
The Vikings play at Oglethorpe on Saturday.
