BC women's lacrosse holds off Alma, 15-11

ROME, Ga. -- Led by Claire Rosenberg's 3 goals and 4 assists, the Berry College women's lacrosse team defeated Alma College, 15-11, at Ford Field on Tuesday afternoon.

The win improved the Vikings to 2-1 overall. The loss dropped Alma to 1-1.

Rosenberg scored the first goal of the game for BC, assisted by Angelica Miller. She then added her second two goals just before the end of the first half.

Berry led 12-3 at halftime, but the Scots fought back and cut the lead to 12-7 after tallying the first 4 goals of the second half.

Two other Vikings netted 3 goals in the win: Kim Fischer and Kelsey McAnnally. McAnnally also dished 2 assists for BC.

Although the Scots led in ground balls (14-12), Berry led in almost every other offensive category, including shots (29-22) and draw controls (16-11).

Berry's goalkeeper Tori Alexander had 7 saves for the Vikings. Alma's Miranda Kruse saved 6 shots for the visitors.

The Vikings will travel to Atlanta on Wednesday, March 4 to take on Oglethorpe College at 7 p.m. in their next game.
