Box Score ROME, Ga. -- Zarriah Pierce scored a team-high 11 points, but Berry College lost to Emory University, 67-48, to close play at the 2015 Berry College Women's Basketball Classic.
The Vikings dropped to 6-5 and the Eagles moved to 7-2 on the season.
Pierce came off the bench to make 3-of-9 shots and converted four of her six free throws. The lone Viking in double-digits, Piece added four assists and made one 3-point basket.
The score was tied four times and the lead changed hands three times. Emory led 29-23 at halftime.
For the game, Emory shot 45-percent (25-56) to BC's 33-percent (16-49). The Vikings forced 18 turnovers, but had 24 miscues. Emory scored 26 points off turnovers to Berry's seven.
EU won the battle of the boards, 38-36. Emma Cook and Imani Smith both had six rebounds for BC.
For Emory, Shellie Kaniut had 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Teammate Dumebi Egbuna added 11 points for the Eagles.
The Vikings return to action on Jan. 5 at Wesleyan (Ga.) College.
