BC Women's Soccer Advances to SAA Quarterfinals with, 2-1, win over BSC

ROME, Ga. - - Lynnsey Danford scored the go-ahead goal in the 66th minute, and the Berry College women's soccer defeated Birmingham-Southern College, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. 

The win advanced the Vikes (10-5-1) to the Southern Athletic Association Quarterfinals. The loss ended the Panthers' season with an 8-9 overall record.

BSC scored their only goal of the game in the 22nd minute. Avery Newcomb found the back of the net off of a short cross from Sammy Manzo, putting the Panthers ahead, 1-0.The score remained tied, 1-1, at the half.

BC's Megan Radosta then evened the score in the 49th minute. Scoring her first goal of the year, Radosta tallied off a pass from Joanna Logan to move the score to 1-1. 

Danford scored the final goal of the game in the 66th minute. Finishing a cross from Emily Nixon.

Melissa Sanchez earned the win in goal for the Vikes, collecting four saves in herm 90 minutes of work. 

The Vikes led the game in both shots (15-7) and corner kicks (4-2). 

BC will travel to Danville, Kentucky, to take on #1-seeded Centre College in an SAA-Quarterfinal matchup.
