Women's Soccer Wins at Hendrix, 2-1

CONWAY, Ark. -- Extending their winning streak to six games, the Berry College women's soccer team defeated Hendrix College, 2-1, on Friday afternoon.

The win improved the Vikes to 9-2-1 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Athletic Association. The loss dropped the Warriors to 8-6-1 and 1-4.

Berry's first goal of the game came in the eleventh minute from Tessa Piety. The unassisted tally put the Vikings ahead, 1-0. 

The Warriors rallied back with a goal of their own in the twenty-fourth minute. Scoring off a penalty kick, Samantha Lallas evened the score, 1-1. 

The score remained tied, 1-1, at the half.

Maggie Midkiff broke the tie with a goal of her own in the fifty-sixth minute. Finding the back of the net on a pass from Lynnsey Danford, Midkiff gave the Vikes a, 2-1, lead.

BC led the game in both shots (21-7) and corner kicks (7-5).

Berry's Logan Williams earned the win in goal, collecting three saves in her ninety minutes of work. 

The Vikings travel to Memphis, Tennessee to take on Rhodes College in their next game on Sunday, Oct. 17. The SAA match-up is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
