Box Score JACKSON, Miss. -- Mel McLean and Megan Walsh both scored 13 points, but Berry College lost at Millsaps College, 69-52, on Friday night.
The Vikings dropped to 12-12 and 5-8 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Majors moved to 15-8 and 9-4 in conference.
McLean was 4-5 shooting and Walsh went 4-6 from the field. Marissa Ivey came off the bench and contributed nine points.
Playing without leading scorer Chanlir Segarra--who was bothered by an injury--BC got off to a slow start. MC led 38-18 at halftime.
"The team was out of sorts during the first half without Chanlir, but we made adjustments and actually outscored Millsaps (34-31) in the second half," said Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "Unfortunately we couldn't overcome the first half deficit. It was good to see the team rally and play well during the second half."
Sam Perez had 18 points and 11 assists to lead the home team. Millsaps won the battle of the boards, 35-18.
The Vikings close SAA regular season play at Birmingham-Southern on Sunday afternoon.
