ROME, Ga—Mel McLean tallied a game-high 21 points as the Berry Vikings defeated Sewanee, 66-58, on Friday night.

"I think we did a really good job against them; they're the number two defense in the SAA and a lot of teams have trouble scoring against them," said Coach Stephanie Dunn. "But I thought we did a good job in the first half against their good defense to set the tone."
"In the second half, we got a lot of good stops on the defense to keep us in the game and on the offensive side and we moved the ball really well," Dunn said .
"Mel has been really good for us all this season overall and when she gets in the zone, it's hard for the defense to stop her," said Coach Dunn.
For Sewanee, Jamie Chauvin led four players in double-digits.
The Vikings return to action Sunday at the Cage Center against Centre, another conference opponent.
