Women's basketball defeats Agnes Scott, 76-38

ROME, Ga. -- All five Berry starters recorded double figures as the Vikings defeated Agnes Scott, 76-38, on Saturday afternoon. BC improved to 1-1 and ASC dropped to 0-2.

Chanlir Segarra had a game-high 16 points for Berry. Freshman Emma Cook tallied 13 points and grabbed a game-best 13 rebounds. Megan Walsh contributed 13, Mel McLean added 12 and freshman Marissa Ivey netted 10 for the home team.

Berry led 51-20 at the half helped by six three-pointers. For the game BC shot 42-percent (25-60) to ASC's 13-68 (19-percent). The Vikings won the battle of the boards, 63-40.

Breonca Hackeny scored 10 points for the Scotties.

"I feel much better today," said BC Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "We played smarter and more settled. We executed like the we have practiced."

Berry returns to action on Nov. 30. The Vikings face visiting LaGrange for the first day of the SAA/USA South Shootout.
