Women Beat Sewanee, 72-51, for Fifth Straight Win

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Chanlir Segarra and Alexa Evans combined for 35 points as Berry College won at Sewanee, 72-51, on Friday night.

The win was the fifth straight for Berry, the most since the 2007-08 season. The Vikings improved to 9-6 and 4-1. Sewanee fell to 5-8, 0-5.

Segarra notched a game-high 20 points. Evans chipped in with 15 for the visitors.

Berry held a 38-34 edge at halftime. The Vikings led the entire game, but the Tigers made a run in the second half and cut the lead to 46-43 with 9:01 left. The Vikes closed the game with a 26-8 run.

"We played hard tonight; it was a total team effort," said Berry Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "Our bench played well tonight and gave us a lift.  We feel good any time we can go on the road and win a conference game."

Jamie Chauvin came off the bench to tally 16 points for Sewanee.

"We will spend time tomorrow preparing for a good Centre team," Dunn said. "We need to play hard and smart on Sunday."
