Augustana Tops Berry 25-24 in Overtime

Box Score

Allie Roehrenbeck scored 12 seconds into the sudden death period to give Augustana a 25-24 victory over Berry in a women's lacrosse game at Berry's Ford Field Saturday.

Roehrenbeck took the faceoff to start sudden death, raced through Berry's defense and fired a shot past Berry goalie Taylor Martin just 12 seconds into the period to lift Augustana to the victory.

Berry forced the sudden death with a goal by Kristan Dziurzynski, her ninth of the game, on a free position shot with just 12 seconds remaining in the second overtime periord.

Dziurzynski also forced overtime when she scored with 43 seconds left in regulation.

Her nine goals were the most in a game in team history, surpassing Jenny Miller's seven-goal performance in a game in 2011.

Augustana's Hilary Kargl scored a game high 14 goals. Kelly Stelzer and Roerenbeck added three apiece, while Hanna Dickman scored twice and Emily Pavlik, Maribeth Shea and Christina Letmanski each scored a goal.

Dziurzynski was joined in the scoring column by Blair Shupenko, who found the net five times, Jenny Miller and Elizabeth Flatt, who scored four goals apiece, and Rachel Aiken, who scored twice.

Berry is scheduled to return to action Feb. 28 against Alma.
