Guilford's Kathryn Carella scored with less than a minute remaining to lift the Quakers to a 17-16 victory over Berry in the Vikings' women's lacrosse season opener at Ford Field Saturday.

Berry held a 16-14 lead, but Guilford scored three goals in the final 2:33 to complete the come-from-behind victory.

Jenny Miller and Elizabeth Flatt led Berry with five goals apiece, while Kristan Dziurzynski added three goals, Katie Harber scored twice and Rachel Aiken tallied one score for the Vikings.

Eleanora Keene led Guilford with four goals. 

Berry goalie Taylor Martin recorded 16 saves. Guilford's Liza Mettler had 11.

Berry is scheduled to return to action Saturday, when it hosts Augustana at noon.
