Box Score Huntingdon College opened the second half with a 23-5 run that turned a one-point halftime lead into a 19-point advantage en route to a 75-57 victory over Berry College in a men's basketball game in Montgomery, Ala., Tuesday.
Berry (0-14) looked to take a lead into the locker room when Lake Graham scored to on a layup to give the Vikings a 38-36 lead with 1:13 remaining in the first half. But Huntingdon's Ryan Perry answered with a 3-pointer with 31 seconds to go and the Hawks took a 39-38 lead at the intermission.
Huntingdon (3-9) scored the first eight points of the second half, beginning its game-changing run that would give the Hawks the lead for good. Huntingdon would extend its lead to as many as 24 points in the second half.
Graham scored a game high 19 points for the Vikings. He was joined in double figures by Mac Whalen, who scored 13 points, and Michael Schulte, who finished with 10.
Schulte led Berry with five rebounds.
Ryan Petty paced four Huntingdon players in double figures with 18 points. Courtnee Edgar and Jeremiah Thomas scored 15 points apiece and Willie McDowell chipped in 12. Thomas also had a game high 12 rebounds.
Berry is scheduled to return to action Saturday at Rust College.
