Berry's Brittany Coughlan scored a team high 15 points, but Bethel (Minn.) defeated the Lady Vikings 60-42 in the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla., Wednesday morning.
Bethel held a slight advantage at the end of a low scoring first half, taking a 19-15 lead into the intermission. The teams combined to shoot just 15-for-48 in the first half.
Both squads heated up in the final 20 minutes, with Bethel shooting a whopping 57 percent (16-for-28) in the second half. Berry (4-6) shot 37 percent (10-for-27) in the half.
Holly Compton joined Coughlan in double figures with 14 points. Both players grabbed five rebounds, tied for team-high honors. Compton also picked up five steals.
Bethel's Scottie Moats led all players with 22 points and nine rebounds. Shana Grejtak recorded 17 points and nine boards.
The Lady Vikings are scheduled to return to action at noon Thursday against Susquehana in Berry's final game at the Land of Magic Classic.
