Brittany Coughlan led a trio of Berry players in double figures with a game high 15 points as the Lady Vikings went on the road and defeated Berea 68-59 Tuesday in Berea, Ky.
Coughlan was 5-for-8 from the field and drilled a pair of 3-pointers for Berry (3-5). She was joined in double figures by teammates Holly compton and Danielle Sisk. Compton scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists, while Sisk chipped in 10 points and six boards.
Berry forward Carol Lampley hauled down a team best nine rebounds to go with seven points.
Emily Hinkson led Berea (1-12) with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Elbony Inskeep added 13 points and Shelby Romine joined them in double digits with 11 points.
The teams' statistics were nearly identical. Both teams shot 31 percent from the field, with Berry hitting 17-of-55 shots and Berea scoring on 19 of 61 attempts. Berry hit 19 percent (4-for-21) from 3-point range, while Berea shot 20 percent (2-for-10). Berea held an advantage in the rebounding column by a single rebound (46 to 45), while the Lady Vikings committed two fewer turnovers (23, compared to Berea's 25).
Berry is scheduled to return to action Friday at Oglethorpe.
