ROME, Ga. - Four of Berry College’s fall athletic teams will begin Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship competition this weekend including both men’s and women’s soccer and cross country programs.
The Berry men's and women's cross country programs compete at the SAA Championships tomorrow morning in Memphis, Tenn. The women's team will compete first at 10:00 a.m. ET after a third place finish last season at the meet. The men are set to run at 11:00 a.m. ET, also finishing third last year.
The women's team return two All-Conference runners from last season in Abby Carroll and Meredith Herman. Carroll earned first-team recognition for the second straight year after running a 23:04.10 to finish fourth overall at the meet. Meredith Herman rounded out Vikings' honors on the women's side, running a 23:36.10 PR to place seventh and finish with a spot on the All-SAA second-team.
Berry's men's team will return All-Conference runner Brayden Fulton. He was an All-SAA honorable mention after a 12th place finish last year.

Securing a No. 3 seed in the SAA tournament, the Vikings will host Birmingham-Southern tomorrow at noon in the SAA Quarterfinals. Berry is 8-4-3 overall, and 4-1-2 in the SAA, their best conference mark since 2014. The Vikings last faced BSC in Birmingham on Oct. 5, battling to a 1-1 draw.
With the match at Pearson Field, the Vikings look to continue their hot streak rolling at home. Berry is 6-0-1 at Pearson Field this season.
Berry will enter the SAA tournament as the No. 5 seed, sitting at 9-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in SAA play. The Vikings head to Birmingham-Southern tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. ET. Berry last faced BSC in Birmingham on Oct. 5, also earning a 1-1 draw.
