Hopper Leads Berry With Nine Kills, But Badgers Sweep Vikes

Berry right side hitter Meredith Hopper led the Vikings with nine kills, but Spring Hill defeated the Berry in three sets Saturday at the BSC Panther Fall Invitational in Birmingham.

Set scores were 25-17, 25-20, 25-11.

Hopper put together a solid outing for Berry (14-14) against the undefeated Badgers (33-0), who are ranked 19th in the latest NAIA national poll.  The freshman from Marietta, Ga., recorded a .292 attacking percentage, committing just two attacking errors in 24 swings.  She also had six digs.

Claire Scott added eight kills and nine digs for Berry, while Kristin Hargrove picked up a team high 13 digs and Stephanie Quinn dished out 30 assists.

Spring Hill's Yiting Cao led all players with 17 kills. 

Berry closes out its appearance in the BSC Panther Fall Invitational Saturday evening when it plays Susquehanna.
