Women's Soccer Falls to Undefeated Catholic 2-1 on Saturday

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A goal from Haley Stewart was not enough for the Berry College women's soccer team to win their second game of the year, as the Vikings fell to 4-0 Catholic 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings now sit at 1-1-1 on the year. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Berry was effective early. After a deflected shot from Anna Salisbury, Stewart found the back of the net off the rebound in the 13th minute of play. 
  • Catholic scored the equalizer in the 37th minute off the boot of Grace Boras.
  • The Vikings got off 13 shots in teh first half to just six for Catholic. The game was tied 1-1 at half. 
  • Elizabeth Johnson scored the game winner in the 57th minute, as the Cardinals held Berry to just a single shot in the second half.
