ROME, Ga. – With a new head coach at the helm, the Berry College women’s lacrosse team looks forward to a year of firsts throughout the 2018 season.
The Vikings finished with a 9-9 overall record last season, as well as a 5-2 conference record, falling to Rhodes College in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) finals, the first time the team had advanced to the conference championship game. Although the Vikings lost five of their six games in February last season, Berry peaked when they needed to and finished play with a five-game winning streak.
Six Vikings were named to the SAA All-Conference team following the year. Berry graduated four seniors, but also gained a new head coach in Brittni Dulaney.
Dulaney played NCAA Division I lacrosse at Presbyterian College, earning National Lacrosse Conference All-Tournament and MVP honors twice before starting the women’s lacrosse program at Shorter University in 2010-11. Two-time Coach of the Year while with the Hawks, Dulaney brings experience and success to the Vikings’ coaching staff this year, eyeing a spot in the SAA Championship once again.
Berry will host SAA-foe Oglethorpe University tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
