Vikings suffers first loss at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. -- The Berry College women's lacrosse team suffered its first defeat of the season, 18-6, at Goucher College on Wednesday. The Vikings dropped to 4-1 and the Gophers moved to 2-2.

Kristan Dziurzynski had two goals and one assist and Blair Shupenko tallied twice for the visitors. Claire Rosenberg recorded one goal and one helper.

Goucher led 9-2 at halftime. The Gophers led in shots (20-16) and draw controls (17-7). 

Erin Reifsnyder had three goals and five assists to pace Goucher.

Taylor Martin took the defeat in goal for BC. She had four saves. Her counterpart, Emily Gill, sopped five Viking shots.

Berry ends its Spring Break road trip at Lynchburg on Saturday.
