Vikings improve to 4-0 after defeating Thiel, 11-9

ARNOLD, Md. -- The Berry College women's lacrosse team defeated Thiel College, 11-9, at Anne Arundel Community College on Sunday. BC improved to 4-0--its best start in program history--and Thiel fell to 0-2.

Kristan Dziurzynski scored four goals and has two assists for Berry. Claire Rosenberg had two goals and one assist for the Vikings. Goalkeeper Taylor Martin had six saves.

The Vikes led 7-5 at halftime. Thiel tied the game in the last two minutes, but BC scored two late goals to secure the win.

"We played very well today," said Viking Head Coach Shaun Williamson. "We continue to play solid defense this year, which was our biggest question mark going into the season replacing multiple defensive starters. We have two more games in this trip, so we are hoping to continue to play well on Spring Break.

Both teams had 22 shots. The Vikings led in ground balls, 27-20.

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday. Berry plays at Goucher College and first draw is at 7 p.m.
