Women's Golf Drops Five Strokes to Finish First at Sewanee Invite

DICKSON, Tenn. – The Berry College women's golf team dropped five strokes on Monday to shoot a 635 (320, 315) team total at the Sewanee Spring Invitational, finishing first overall.

Rachel Belanger shot a 154 (78, 76) to finish tied for third overall, leading all Berry scorers in the outing and earning a spot on the All-Tournament team. Jorie Hodapp (78, 76) also finished in the top ten, combining for a 156 seventh place finish. Both Karley Hammond (162 – 81, 81) and Loren Kim (163 – 83, 80) rounded out top-20 scoring for the Vikings, placing tied for 17th and tied for 20th, respectively.

Sewanee's Meghan Symonds finished competition at 151 (75, 76) to take the individual title, with Oglethorpe (636 – 321, 315) and Sewanee (640 – 321, 319) finishing in second and third, respectively.

Berry will return to Dickson, Tenn., to begin play at the Southern Athletic Association Conference Championships on Friday, April 20.
